Wad seemed like a normal, dreary monday morn, turned out to be far from dat in VTec.
I’ve been close on the news of the campus shoot-off, watching and reading as the police gather more info on the killer. Korean guy. Loner. Lit student. Senior yr. Dat was all they got on tues.
Mum n I were tokin abt it, and we concluded dat he must be facin some stress or really -ve things. Depression perhaps.
And true enuf, depression.
I rmbed my Psych lectures, and all the qns we asked.
Was he inherently bad? Did sth pushed him to a state of devastation? Was it his mind, his thots? Wad WAS in his mind? Was he hearin ‘voices’ to tell him to carry out a massacre? Was it pent-up frustrations? Was he discriminated? Was it social pressure?
Scary isn’t it.
How things like pent-up frustrations, grieving thots and the way one is treated by others can drive a person to such extent.
34 lives..
And not just dat 34 lives. But the lives of their families, relatives, frens, loved ones and the entire sch population. None, I believe, are not affected.
I just hope that the ones affected will haf the strength to carry on. and may peace be with the ones dat are gone.
Now we wait as the police try to find out the motive behind the shoot-off. Thru his words perhaps. For he was a lit student.
And i wonder.. wad wld have happened if dere was s’one, juz one person, dat he could talk to.

simple.. tt wun happen le lo.. listening ear makes all the diff.. no need a gd talker.. man just wan some1 to be able to listen, rather than tok..

He was described as a loner.. so probably he don’t have basic communication skills to begin with.. either that, or he’s just misunderstood all the time.
Ya, like wad ya said, he was a lit student. This lead me to reflect that perhaps intellectual construct thru books is not good enough sometimes to seek truth. It could potentially detach one’s mind from real events if left to interpret in seclusion. Which possibly culminated him to think he died a martyr, perverting the idea of God and self-sacrificial. Sad.
Was he truely psychotic, disillusioned, or just misinformed? I think the media will probably paint him as crazy as Hitler period. After all the alternative closures will have serious consequences on the fabric of American society that is already mired and confused with occurances of such carnages…

My tots exactly! If dere were s’one he cld tok to, or simply showed dat they sincerely care abt his views, it mite not haf ended dis way. We cant be completely sure though.. But it CLD have bn dat 1 thing to save the lives of 34..
Abt comm skills.. if dere was anyone he felt secure enuf to tok to, whom he noes cares abt wad he was thinking, he probly can juz pour it out to dat person. And not haf to go thru all this to make his voice heard.
I dunno if the society will call him crazy, but I think the media tried not to. They used “suffering from depression”.
And yah, i think dat all’s done is done, cant chng dat, but dere really are lessons to learn frm it. But not juz US, i guess everyone else too. Materialism, the way we r always nv satisfied w wad we haf, and how we treat the ppl ard us who we c as ‘different’. How many of us r not guilty?
